Sarina Bowen is an auto-buy for me, especially her M/M books. After reading Him and Us, I dove headfirst into this one with the same expectations.I have to admit that this book was hard to get through. The two MCs had a past history which was nicely fleshed out and sweet. I found Mike unlikable in so many ways. The real hero in this book is John. He was courageous, strong, and still shone like a beacon of light through everything. John is what kept me reading. (And hockey because I love my sports books). I hurt for John and even thought about him after I had finished reading it.There were some hot, sexy times, but when we got to their first real time......off page. That was a huge disappointment for me. The first time they truly connected and then..nothing. I'm a smutty girl. What can I say?I loved all of the side characters. They were amazing. I would love to see a sequel for these two somewhere down the road. I WANT to know how they are doing. Great book! Sarina’s my go to for m/m romance. Her flair for writing this genre is second to none. I know going in I’m going to sucked in and I’ll be suffering the consequences of one book hangover I’ll never complain about.Who doesn’t love elite sexy hockey players, ones whose story suck in. The stories are flawless, engaging and keep on the edge.Her dialogue between all characters is strong, and often hilarious at times. The heat and chemistry flat out smoulders.
